AAMS Featured on WoW Insider!

I know I've not been a very good blogger, but I would be horribly remiss in not writing about the AAMS being featured on WoW Insider today!

Link to article here!

I have been on an emotional high all afternoon.

It started last week when I checked Derscha's in-game mail.  It was from someone I hadn't heard of, and there was no guild membership requests pending, but the low-level nature of the sender made me think it was likely an application, since we'd been having some good publicity lately.

The beginning wasn't unusual.  "Hi, Derscha, I just heard about your guild!"  Then a request to talk... about an interview for WoW Insider.   My jaw dropped, and I pretty much stared at my screen in shock.

I contacted Yotingo, the Horde Branch manager, and asked if Yot would like to be involved.  I haven't really been the CEO of the AAMS that long, and having someone with more history made me feel better.  I contacted WoW Insider, said, 'Yes, definitely!' and we set up an interview.

It wasn't actually very difficult.  They interview via email, to give people time to think about their replies.  That was a huge relief to me.

Then I got surprised; they originally said there were a few articles scheduled before us, but when they sent us our questionnaire, it was mentioned that it may be featured as soon as that week because of Independence Day!  Yotingo and I rushed to get our answers typed out, and Arietha and I scrounged for screenshots to submit.  On Tuesday, Yot and I got together to pose for a joint screenshot, and I sent it off!

On the Fourth (Wednesday), I got a reply saying that it was very likely to be published that week.

Today at work, I took a very late last break.  My break was at 4:15, when I was scheduled only until 5pm.  I pulled out my phone, checked WoW Insider out of habit (I read the articles on breaks) and spent another minute staring at the screen.  I scrolled through the article, but couldn't concentrate enough to read it.

I went back to work, and immediately told my co-worker that the article had been published, showing her my phone.  She pointed out my hand was shaking.  I was totally giddy that last half hour of work, so much that people actually asked what had happened when I had gone to break.   It's very, very, difficult to explain that I'm a part of a RP guild on Warcraft that just got featured in a major Warcraft new site when I'm grinning ear to ear and nearly laughing at it.

I'm surprised I didn't crash the car on the way home.

It's taken me hours to calm down to a semi-normal level of excitement.  I haven't really been able to concentrate on much; running Tol Barad was troublesome, but it helped me get some focus.

So today I'm going to idle on Derscha, and work on prep for our guild event this weekend.  We're moving headquarters from Caer Darrow to Booty Bay, and the official move is Sunday.

It's going to be my first time RPing as a villain, if I use the plan I have in mind, although I worry how easy it will be handing cross-faction RP. I also worry that it will appear like I'm putting too much emphasis on my character (yep, Ketlan's getting a brief stint as a villain) rather than the AAMS.  I wouldn't have put Ketlan in a villain's role if it hadn't fit rather nicely into recent events at Caer Darrow.  She was at Scholomance recently, so why not take advantage of that?

But now I'm getting a little off-topic.

WoW Insider.

Squee!
