Free Time

Well.  I haven't made a post lately (not even the reposting of RP logs), but in my defense I've been really busy the past month moving to a new city.


Husband's job asked if he'd move to a city three hours away, and we said yes.  Five days later and we were signing a lease on a new apartment, and a few days after that, most of my belongings where 180 miles away.  I ended up staying home for another five weeks to tie up some loose ends and see if I could get a transfer with the company I was working with.

Alas, no transfer has come through yet, so I'm looking for a new job now.  In the meantime, however, I find myself with lots of free time and a new space to write and record music in.

It's actually a lot like my old space from several years ago, when I first started this blog: a separate office where I have my computer, keyboard, and mic all set up rather permanently.  I ended up ditching that arrangement because it meant I was spending most of my day not seeing my husband except for meals.  I started to regret the decision to move my computer into the same room as the TV when I noticed I simply couldn't get anything written, even with headphones on to tune out the TV.   It just doesn't work having the constant distraction.  I only was able to write anything when he wasn't home, which was very irregular timing with our schedules.  I'm hoping this new arrangement works out; I'm not half a house away, just one room away, so maybe I won't get as lonely.

One the plus side, I have a job interview lined up for this afternoon, and one new song already written!
