Meet-n-Greet, Lakeshore, Cats and Chickens, Whispers

Buuuusy week.

Derscha hosted her first official AAMS event last night, a meet-and-greet for all the new couriers we've recruited the past few weeks.  And boy. we've recruited a lot.  I know I'll need to keep a watchful GM eye on a few of them, but overall, I'm very happy with the quality of RPers who've joined our ranks.

I'm finally feeling like a Branch Manager, now that Derscha's done some stuff officially and has been fending off whispers left and right.  I'm not the type of person who likes to force my point of view on others, but at the same time, I get the incredible urge all the time just to say, 'Hey. We're doing it this way.'  I'm working on finding that balance. Luckily, Derscha is very bossy.

I've had to tweak Derscha's personality a bit.  She can't be as clueless as I originally intended, but that's okay.  I'm digging the newer, deeper Derscha who puts on the act of bubbly gnome.  Neo-Derscha is a character with heartaches, secret motivations, and much to my surprise, the apparent ability to find someone hiding in the woods. Who knew?

I had some fun RPing with "Roisil Morningtreader," aka Keedriel Boughtstrider, high elf in hiding.  Didn't know a thing about his character's plot line when Derscha met him, although I've been keeping an eye out for his name since then, and have even spotted it in some old logs I've been editing.

They met in the Recluse, and Derscha made it her personal mission to get him to talk to her.  It actually fun trying to prod him and think of ways to trick him into giving information. She ended up being very frustrated, learning very little, but later on, when they met at the lake in Stormwind, he was more inclined to talk.  She learned he was looking for a friend, and offered to help;  the AAMS is very good at finding people, after all!  She was sworn to secrecy about the conversation, so she told him that if needed to contact her, all he had to do was ask at an AAMS office for the "Lakeshore Delivery."

So I left a note on the AAMS guildportal instructing everyone to give him a message tube labeled "Lakeshore" if he asked for it.  It would contain any information Derscha had discovered... meaning whatever information was needed to advance his plot.  Sure enough, it was delivered the next day.

It was amusing to be an IC source of information I didn't OOCly know!  I asked him about it later- '"Let me know if I should know anything I let you know about."  It seemed Derscha had heard rumors of a person matching his friend's description living in the woods.  Derscha's nosy ways found a good use!

The other big curveball thrown our way was courtesy of Kordrion/Novaclaw.  Novaclaw decided the AAMS needed help giving away the cats, and the best way to do it was by offering free chickens, as well.  Cue the offices being overrun by charmed chickens that laid eggs on command!  A friend got revenge for us, though, by promptly hiring the AAMS to deliver all the chickens to Kordrion's guild.  Fun times!

Finally, some non-WoW stuff. It's the 24th, and I haven't written any music yet.  I haven't even worked much on the recordings because my voice was effectively ruined for two weeks, as far as singing was concerned. But today I finally got inspiration for a new song, tentatively titled "Whispers."  It's a dark piece.  I seem to write a lot of sad, or at least solemn, music.

So... before I get on WoW tonight, I'm going to work on the lyrics.  I have the first verse roughly done, having worked on it while at work.
