[StarCraft] Lynyl reappears suddenly, opening her starry eyes.
[StarCraft] Cipri huggles the Lynyl
Lyana smooches Lynyl! Lynyl is smooched!
[-StarCraft] Cipri: And now Lynyl. What is this, Old faces day? ;)
[-StarCraft] Etain snuggle-attacks Lynyl
[-StarCraft] Lynyl :P
[-StarCraft] Lynyl: Hiya, everyone 'cept Cipri.
[-StarCraft] Cipri sulks and is left out:(
Title: StarCraft Senior Apprentice
Vanity: Singing StarGoddess
Affiliation: Starcraft
IC Age: 27 Turns, 6 months, and 17 days
Lynyl was officially the oldest Sr. Apprentice in Starcraft, and the longest apprenticeship ever. After all, her apprenticeship had lasted the entire life of the guild!
A few days after the Starcraft Fair, I lost access to my computer, and most of my files. My family couldn't afford to replace the computer straight away The result was I ended up just quitting playing unexpectedly with no time to tie up loose threads. Luckily, Lyana knew what was going on, so my character was "frozen" and saved from deletion for inactivity.
When I was able to log back in, a lot had changed. Leadership had changed. Lyana was a journeyman, and so was Jorina. I couldn't get a scheduled interview for various reasons for my promotion. Darman had moved on since I hadn't been around.
Then real life intruded: I was in high school now, studying voice and music theory at a magnet school. I didn't have as much time to be online. Lyana and Jorina were at a different school, so we didn't coordinate as often, either.
Plus, the game was beginning to change. Players were adding more areas, towns, and weyrs, but the general population had stopped growing. The result was a low population density. Everyone stayed in their IC home, and it was harder to find RP.
Lyana kept my char on the safe list, and I'd pop on occasionally to check up on things. She became the Craft Master eventually, while I stayed a Sr. Appy. I suppose I could've asked for that promotion, but I didn't want to ask for favors, particularly when I was rarely present. Eventually, I stopped playing all together.
Over the years next couple of years, I rolled a few characters to see what was up in my old haunt. I think the community realized the population problem, as many areas disappeared and the population was consolidated. But it was still sparsely populated. We'd entered the EverQuest period of the internet.
At one point, I realized enough time had passed, that with the 4:1 time ratio, I could roll a character as my own daughter. I sent a young girl named Elenyl to explore the world, using an old, scratched-up DV lens as a lucky charm. The world was very quiet and empty; a quick /who showed most people having out in their rooms. On the plus side, anyone I did meet in public places was open to random RP and willing to talk.
That's when I found out that Starcraft no longer existed; its halls were ICly destroyed, and the guild disbanded. I decided Elenyl was only visiting, after all. My heart was broken.
In my mind, I know what I want to have happened to Lynyl after she finished her project. She eventually received that promotion and was transferred out of Ista. She was reunited with Danire, who was able to get his crafter's knots, and was amazed that she still wore his ring. They had several children, including Elenyl. Lynyl continued working with maps, and developed new inks to use. Both of them received their Master's Knots, set up an observatory near Metal Lake, and then trained apprentices to send to the main guild hall... wherever its new location was. If I were still playing, Lynyl would be a very old woman by now, if not yet passed away. She'd be buried wearing Danire's ring, under the stars.

I don't know how long Jorina played after I left; we fell out of communication completely. I kept in touch with Lyana, who kept playing long after I did. She had multiple reasons: she was the CM, and two, she had developed a IRL relationship with a guild member named Cipri. Cipri lived in another country, so HT was their way of staying in contact. They were still together when I first started playing WoW, but have since broken up. They were no longer in Harper's Tale when Elenyl visited.
